40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Weddings

Woo happy Friday! Guys, I actually have my post done on a Friday for once in my life. :P Yes, it's pretty late on a Friday, but it's Friday darnit. This week's theme is weddings, and I came up with this idea to stamp over top of a sheer polish and then add a french tip. It sounded pretty good in my head...but in practice, not so much. So, I'm sticking with the stamping minus the french tip.

I painted my nails using Sally Hansen She Sells, which is a Pearl Crush polish. It's kind of a weird polish. I feel like it looks odd on it's own, but it makes a good base for this manicure, I think. Here it is on it's own. This is three coats. The large glitters were a bit of a pin, but fishing was not required since there are a ton of them in there. If anything, I felt like I got too many at times and had to put them back in the bottle haha.

Here is what it looked like after my botched french tip. I used some stickers that I got for free somewhere and it shows. They did not work well or make a crisp line like vinyls do. I also should have just chosen a straight line here. The shape of the french tip did not work well with the stamping at all. I'm just a hot mess here.

Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by! Please make sure you take a peek at what everyone else did. There are bound to be some really pretty, delicate manis in there!

40 Great Nailart Ideas - Neon

Good evening! This week, our theme is neon, so I have a bright neon mani for you today! I started off with a white base for this ones, to make the colors brighter, and used a few colors from the China Glaze neon collection from last year.

I did an axtec pattern over top of stripes of neon using my striping polish from Orly called Jet Black, and my Sally Hansen nailart pen in Black. The colors I used for the background are China Glaze Glow With The Flow, DJ Blue My Mind, Red-y To Rave, and Violet-Vibes. I used Pure Ice SuperStar! underneath to make the colors pop.

Please make sure you visit the other people who posted their neon manis for this week's prompt! There are bound to be tons of ideas in there for some great summer nailart. :) Thanks for stopping by!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Spring

Hello! So I feel like every idea ever in the history of time when it comes to Sprig manicures has been done. So, of course, I was over here struggling to think up something new. Well, I don't have anything new. Everyone knows what Spring entails. Every Spring-like mani has been done. So, I'm just doing what I like, and what reminds me most of Spring. And guess what? It's baby ducks. I literally just got a little shiver of excitement typing that. You guys, I love baby ducks so much I can hardly stand it!!! They are so cute, in their cute little line behind their mama. So, I decided to paint that on my nails.

I started off with OPI My Pal Joey from the Hello Kitty Collection. After that, I hand painted the mama duck and the little babies using Pure Ice SuperStar! and Black Rage, Essie Meet Me at Sunset, and Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow.

Here is what My Pal Joey looks like on its own. It is a thin polish, but surprisingly this is only two coats. I was skeptical after the first thin and streaky coat, but it looked fine on the second. I love how bright it is, too. It's a perfect nail color for Spring!

There you have it. Baby ducks = Spring. And I loooooove baby ducks! My husband will take me out to the park where there is a big pond to take pictures of baby ducks. That is the tradition. I will take like a hundred pictures. It will be great. So, I guess that is all I have for you today. Please make sure you check out what everyone else did for their spring manicures!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - 3 Shades of Green

Good afternoon and happy Saturday! It occurs to me that I failed to post last week's manicure up on this blog. I don;t know what I was thinking, but I guess I was very sidetracked. Anyway, I am back, and this week I have a very green manicure. I did not intend for it to look like a Spring manicure initially, but it sort of came out that way anyway. :D

I started off this manicure with a white base. Then I used the watercolor technique (using acetone to thin the polish and let the colors bleed together) with Revlon Posh, Sinful Colors Last Chance, and Sally Hansen Perfect Pear-ing. Here is what it looked like.

After that, I used Konad Special Black and CICI&SISI plate 05 to add the swirling leafy pattern to each nail. I really love the result!

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my art today, and please make sure you look at all the other green manicures as well! There are some really great ones!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - 3 Shades of Purple

Hi guys! This week we are showing off various ways to wear three shades of purple at once. I'm actually pretty displeased with this one, but ah well. I should have tested it out on paper first and I didn't! You would think I would have learned my lesson by now, but apparently, I have not. :D Anyway, I used three purple polishes I had not yet used, including a new glitter from Different Dimension that I bought myself at Christmas.

Unfortunately, I made a bad choice about one of the polishes and it didn't layer well at all. Sally Hansen Purple Craze looked like a bright purple cream, but went on over the glitter a dark terrible mess. :( Oh why didn't I test it out first??? Well, anyway, I painted my nails using Different Dimension Wars Would Never Start first, then I taped off sections and painted over top using Milani Ultra Violet and Sally Hansen Purple Craze. Even though it didn't quite go as planned, there is a lot of purple-y goodness happening here, so I can't complain too much.

Here is what Wars Would Never Start looks like on it's own. It's a gorgeous dark purple-black jelly packed with tiny metallic purple glitters, tiny silver squares, and various purple hex glitters. It's a great mix of lots of different purple sparkles, so I love it of course. I did two coats here to reach opacity.

Thank you as always for taking the time to read my blog. Make sure you take a look at what everyone else did with their three purples! this one is bound to be full of beautiful manis!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Things That Fly

Good morning! This week's theme for the Nail Tarts' challenge is Things That Fly. I thought for a while on this one, but it didn't take long for me to decide that I needed spaceships!

I used my new Nerd Lacquer, I Think You Call Me...Sexy for my base. It looks like space with stars and has tons of sparkle. I wanted a variety and had several stamping plates featuring spaceships, so I just used them all! I made these decals using mostly images from BM-XL134 and the image on my thumb is from JR-31. I got this Nerd Lacquer and the JR plate (My Online Shop) from my secret agent in a Christmas exchange, and I thought I was going to DIE. I cried opening everything, but there will be a separate post for that!

The decals were done using Mundo de Unas Light Gray and Blue.  I used Sally Hansen Graphite Gravity, a silver OPI that has no name, a silver polish from The New Black that is also nameless, and some of the Mundo de Unas blue to color in the decals.

Here is what Nerd Lacquer I Think You Call Me...Sexy looks like on it's own. It's a fantastic blue jelly packed with holographic shimmer, tiny blue and silver metallic hexes, medium sized blue and silver metallic hexes, and larger pale blue metallic hexes. It's gorgeous. And also, it's a Dr. Who polish, so I love it even more just for that.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Make sure you check out what everyone else did for this week's prompt. I know there is at least one other TARDIS out there. ;)

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Geeks

Happy Friday! Today is the 3rd day of the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge. The theme is geeks, and I am so super thrilled with how my mani came out for this one. As most of you probably already know, I am a giant video game nerd. :D I decided to do a mani for a game that I spent the better part of the year playing in my free time - Dragon Age Inquisition. I decided to use the cover image for my inspiration.

For this mani, I used Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet for my base, then used the follow colors for all of the detail work:
  • Sephora by OPI Caught With My Khakis Down
  • Julep Francis, Roc Solid, and Shelly
  •  Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow
  • Pure Ice SuperStar!

I played through this game twice, once in normal mode, then again on hard. Then, my husband bought me the expansion, so I played even more! Haha. Currently, I am playing Elder Scrolls Online, so if any of my fellow nail nerds is also a video game geek who plays too, we should totally play together! ;)

Anyway, even if you don't give a hoot about video games, this is still a pretty sweet dragon, so I'm sure we can all appreciate that! I'm so excited to see what everyone else does for this challenge. Make sure you all check out what they do. There are bound to be a ton of really great manis out there!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Teal

I'm back this week for the next rendition of 40 Great Nail Art Ideas. This week's theme is teal, so I wanted to show off an idea that is pretty easy to execute for a cool looking teal manicure. I've done this one before, but this time I mixed up the colors. Here is my teal splatter mani!

I used the technique found here. I started off with Julep Donna as my base, which is a deep teal cream. Then, I used the splatter technique to add Sally Hansen Kiwi Bikini, Hello Kitty Minty, and Wet n Wild Black Creme. I kept adding layers until I liked it, and then added topcoat. Easy!

Here is what Donna looks like by herself. This one is a really nice formula and went on in two coats.

Make sure you check out what everyone else did for this week's teal manicures! Thanks for looking!

Purple Smoosh Mani + Stamping

Hi everyone and happy Saturday! I have just arrived at the beautiful east coast! You won't be hearing anything from me on social media for a week (except MAYBE on ig, maybe), but I have lots of posts scheduled, so make sure you check back here once in a while to see what's new! Today, I am fulfilling the prompt for the second half of August from my stamping group on facebook. I was super excited about this one because it involves purple (YAY!), and a new to me process called "smoosh". Ooh I'm so excited. Check it out!

For this mani, I used OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-holm?, Butter London Stroppy, Zoya Dannii, and Sally Hansen Purple Craze and then smooshed them all together using this method.

The stamping plate I used for this was CICI&SISI 24. I am actually wearing this one as my vacation mani so I have it on BOTH hands! Chances are it won't make it all the way through vacation, so I'm bringing some polishes with me in case of a nail emergency (or you know...just because I like change!).

Thank you so much for checking out today's post. Have a great day!

Mickey Mouse Nail Art with Creative Cuticles Of Mice And Merlin

Hello! Oh boy I have been busy lately, so sorry about the lack of posts, but I am working on some new nail art tonight, which I will probably have posted tomorrow night or Friday morning. :) Today, I have a mani I did for a coworker who is going to Disneyland on Thursday. I had just bought this polish from Creative Cuticles when I found out she was going and told her more or less, she pretty much NEEDED it for the trip. We sat down at lunch last Friday and I painted these little sorcerer Mickeys on her ring fingers and then added two coats of Of Mice And Merlin to every other nail.

The base colors used for this are Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow and Julep Margaret. I painted Mickey using Pure Ice Black Rage and SuperStar!, Revlon First Class, and Julep Clara. Now I have my fingers crossed they last through her whole vacation!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I'm really starting to quite like doing other people's nails. It's fun and a great lunch time de-stresser. :)

I'm Thinking of a Baby Chick

Hi everyone! Today I am taking my Earth Day mani for the stamping group that I joined in a bit of a different direction. Earth Day is also my little sister's birthday, and I did a manicure in her honor because she is the sweetest, funniest, most amazing sister in the whole world. :) It's funny, when we were kids, I didn't always think so, but I was not mature enough to see . As we have grown older, and I see what a beautiful, smart, talented, compassionate, and thoughtful woman she has become, I realize I'm the luckiest sister on the planet. My sister is my best friend.

You may be wondering why the odd title. My sister will know the minute she sees it, but I'll explain it to the rest of you because it's totally cute (sorry, Kate). When we were little, and going on long car trips, we would play all sorts of games to keep entertained. My parents played this guessing game with us called "I'm Thinking of an Animal". It would start with one of us saying "I'm Thinking of an Animal", and then we each took turns asking yes or no questions (does it have fur?, is it cold-blooded?, etc.). It's similar to the game a lot of people call "Yes and No", but ours was specifically animals, so there was no animal, vegetable, mineral guesses. Anyway, My sister was very little (maybe 4 years old) and was really great at guessing, but when she decided she wanted to have us guess her animal, she said "I'm thinking of a baby chick". So, of course, my dad asked "Is it a baby chick?" and she was all surprised that he guessed it. It was really cute, and she was just a bit too little to grasp the concept of the game at first, but realized her mistake after the fact. She was super smart even then. AND she went on to give us a pretty good challenge a few times on that car trip after that! This manicure is to honor her baby chick. I used PUEEN47 for the chick image. The gradient was done using Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow and Lemon Zest, and the background stamp is from PUEEN46.

Kate, I wish you a very happy birthday, and I love you so much! Thank you everyone for looking. Have a beautiful day!

Butterfly Manicure for Spring

Good morning! The theme this week in our stamping group is Spring, and, although I know the good weather is right around the corner, the persistent cold around here has been keeping me down. Well, this mani may have just pulled me right out of it because it makes me happy just to look at it! I did some simple stamping in green and then created some butterfly stamping decals to place over top. I really love how these came out!

I started off with two coats of Julep Francis, then stamped this vine pattern using Bundle Monster plate BM-406 and NYC High Line Green. Here is what it looked like before I added my butterflies.

After that, I created decals using PUEEN39 (and removed all of the flowers). I colored in each butterfly using Sally Hansen Purple Craze, Barielle Joytini, and Wet n Wild Dream Poppy. I added white to the back of each one to make the colors brighter. Once they were dry, I placed them on each nail at different angles, then added topcoat.

Hooray for Spring! I'm so excited to finally feel WARM again! Here is a quick swatch of Julep Francis all by itself. I'm slowly working my way through a lot of my untried colors, but it is taking a while. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by to read! Please make sure you take a peek at what everyone else did for their spring manis!

Gradient Pastel Chevrons and Birds

Good morning! Today I have some cute chevrons and birds on my nails for the double stamping prompt from my stamping group on facebook. I really love how these came out (despite the stamping troubles I had with this darn birdcage stamp).

I started off with a simple gradient using Zoya Wednesday and Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac. Then, I stamped a chevron pattern over top of it using Konad Special White polish and Bundle Monster plate BM-423.

After that, I added the birdcages to each nail using Konad Special Black polish and Bundle Monster plate BM-407.

Thank you as always for taking the time to read my post! I hope you enjoyed my manicure. Please take a moment to enjoy the manicures that my fellow stampers came up with for today's double-stamping prompt!
