Born Pretty Store - Clear Jelly Stamper Review & Floral Nail Art

Hello! Today, I have some stamping nail art using the clear jelly stamper from Born Pretty Store. They sent me this stamper with a few other items to review, and I could not have been more excited to receive this particular item. I have seen so many other people use it, and I was super stoked to be able to test it out for myself.

It's funny, I was so excited to try it, but once I had it in my possession, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it. I decided to ultimately just show how much easier it was to get perfect placement with it (you all know I have messed that up more than once!). I started off with two coats of KleanKolor Wave of Peppermint, then used this stamper to place a floral pattern over my nail using MoYou Pro XL-12 and Mundo de Unas Mexican Pink. After that, I used the stamper again to place the rose image from CICI&SISI plate 24 and Mundo de Unas purple. I was able to place it in the same location and angle on each nail. No way could I have placed it so well if I couldn't see it like I can with this stamper. So, basically, I love it!

It arrived with a scraper as well, and I found that the scraper was not that great. I like that it's plastic and not metal, but It left stripes of polish over the image that picked up on the stamper, so I had to switch back to my old trusty scraper.

Here is what Wave of Peppermint looks like on it's own. It is a scented polish, and as you can imagine, smells like peppermint.

I have a discount code for Born Pretty Store to share with you, too. If you haven't already gotten one, do yourself a favor and buy one. It will be 10% off and it's already pretty inexpensive!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you all have a great day. I'll be back on Friday!

Golden Oldie Thursday - Green

Today's post is a simple one. I have two old greens that I really need to get swatched, and they will be perfect together, so I'm knocking that task out today! This is Revlon Posh and Klean Color Starry Meteor. I love, love, LOVE this glitter. It is sooo pretty.

Here is Revlon Posh by itself. It is the perfect Christmas green and would be great for St. Patrick's Day too!

Make sure you check out all the links below for some more green!

Simple Glitter Gradient

This is a manicure that I did earlier in the semester. I hadn't had time for any nail art for a while, but I thought I would show this one off now, since the colors ended up looking quite Christmas-y together. I have a thing for glitter gradients lately if you hadn't noticed. They are super easy - great for when I am too busy to make sure my socks match, let alone do a whole manicure!

I think they turned out pretty sweet. This is butter london Knees Up and KleanKolor Firework. It's funny because this is not intended to be a Christmas color, but with the red background, the teal blue glitters suddenly look very green and Christmas-esque with the red and gold.

Here is butter london Knees Up all by itself.Gorgeous red - perfect for Christmas time!

Thanks for looking! I hope you all have a happy Friday!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already - the odds are still really good!

Laid-Back NEW31DC Day 4 - Pink

For this manicure, I decided not to go with a Valentine's Day theme, even though I will probably still be wearing it on that day. :) Valentine's Day is not something that we typically make a big celebration of, but I love pink, and who knows - maybe my husband will surprise me with something.

Anyway, I decided to try something that I have been wanting to do for a VERY long time - take a look!

Pink galaxies! The very first time I saw a galaxy manicure, I was smitten. They are so beautiful, and I feel like even though the classic black ones are cool, I really wanted to try it out in different colors. I did a green one before - just on one nail, for my Skyrim manicure, but didn't snap a pic before painting over it. So now, I am super excited that I have a full hand has galaxy nails and I'm really digging it.

For this look, I started out with a base of Essie Sure Shot, which is just beautiful on its own. Then, I sponged on Kleancolor Sweet Pink, OPI You Only Live Twice, Revlon Cafe Pink, L.A. Colors Atomic Force, Zoya Kimber, and Julep Audrey. After that, I added a thin coat of Wet n Wild Hannah Pinktana, then a coat of Nubar White Polka Dot. Here's a pic of Essie Sure Shot by itself. So pretty!

Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to look at everyone else's pink creations!

Summer Challenge Day 15 - Ocean/Sea

Day 15 (July 29th) of the Summer Challenge is Ocean/Sea. There is one thing I have been wanting to do throughout this challenge, and since this is my last chance, I'm going for it. When I think of the ocean, I always think of my favorite childhood...ok I still love it...movie. The Little Mermaid! So I thought, now would be my chance to do some mermaid nails! :) I've been dying to do some mermaid nails for EVER and just never did. So here they are!

So what do you think? I started out with a base of Nubar Reclaim - if you remember I won it in a giveaway, and oh my it's gorgeous!! After that, I did a little gradient using Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost, Nubar Reclaim, and another color I've been dying to try: Kleancolor Starry Meteor! Oh my goodness I just love it! So then, I stamped over it with an image from Mash-39 in Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost. Here are some pictures of the progress, including lovley Nubar Reclaim on its own.

Thank you so much for looking! A full outline of the challenge can be found here. Please be sure to check out the other participants in this challenge, too!

10 Day/Week Challenge Day 1 + A Happy Surprise!

First, I will share the surprise, then the mani. :) I'm am so excited I actually won a giveaway. I'm especially excited because it is for a very pretty Nubar, which is a brand I have never tried. It is from ambianceshop.com and I just wanted to post a thank you to her for having the giveaway and giving me the opportunity to try out a brand I probably never would have gotten to try. Thank you so much, Marnie!

Now, on to the nails! Day 1 is Pink Nails, and somehow I actually had a hard time with them. What?! I know - I love pink! Plain pink nails just seemed so boring though, I couldn't handle it, so since I had on some boring nails for work, and didn't feel like starting from scratch, I decided to layer...and then because that wasn't exciting enough, I decided some nail art + stamping was needed. :) Check it out.
Now here are the boring nails. This is Spoiled My Silicone Popped. It's a good color, I'm just bored with how plain it is, but it's great for when you need to be neutral, like at work.
ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......................

And here they are with a layer of Kleancolor Sweet Pink on top.
Still not entertaining enough for me. So, I painted french tips and did some stamping using Spoiled Pretty In Punk...which may become one of my favorite pinks by the way!
School was insane so far this week, so I had to do something that wouldn't take a whole lot of time, but would still pack a punch. I'm pretty happy with what I came up with. What do you think?

Botanical Mani

So, I don't necessarily LOVE how this one turned out, but I put in a lot of effort, so I am sharing it anyways! I used a dotter to do most of it (aka a pin stabbed into a mechanical pencil eraser), and I like the way the flowers turned out. I was attempting to paint ferns on my nails with a floral accent, but the ferns did not quite turn out how I had imaged them. Turns out they are harder to draw than I thought! I was inspired by a recent trip I took to the botanical gardens here by my home. Take a look!

KleanColor Sweet Orange, China Glaze Four Leaf Clover, Sally Hansen Pronto Purple, NYC Taxi Yellow Creme
Here it is with the flash!
This one was my favorite nail - apologies for the tipwear - it's only been one day, but I type all day at work!

Let me know what you think, or if you have suggestions on how I could have done this better. Thanks for looking!

Hair Store Goodies and Wet n Wild On a Trip/En Voyage Polish Review

I am having way too much fun with my birthday money. :) Here are a few pictures of the nail stuff I got today. I'll add these to my list of polishes over the next few days.

From left to right: Kleancolor Sweet Pink, Starry Meteor, Sweet Orange, and Firework

Here is a picture of this new Wet n Wild polish I got last week. I'm a little disappointed in it, but I love the color so much, I'm still going to incorporate it into a full-blown mani tomorrow (Sometimes I have to do my manis in stages). The color dried quite a bit darker than it looked in the bottle and the wide brush on it made it a bit more tricky for me to get nice even strokes of polish on my nails. It ended up bubbling pretty bad too, and I don't usually have that issue, so I'm thinking it has to do with the fact that I kept having to go back over the nail with the crazy giant brush it came with. Anyway, since the color is gorgeous, I'm going to let the negative stuff slide. Some topcoat should hide the bumpy, bubbly texture. I'll try to post pictures of my full mani tomorrow.
