A while back, I ordered some nail vinyls from Loki's Nail Vinyls, and
when Tara saw that I had ordered Tardis decals, she threw in a small
strip of gold daleks. Eeeep! So, this mani has been on my mind for a
while, and I finally had the chance to execute it. Yay!
My
idea was to do a galaxy manicure and have the Tardis "chasing" a couple
of daleks. So, I went to work creating my galaxy nails. The galaxies
had to be purple-based of course - duh!! :P I used OPI Lincoln Park in the Dark and then sponged on my "galaxies" using Julep Margaret, Butter London Petrol, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, Sinful Colors Cinderella, and Pure Ice SuperStar!. I added one coat of Maybelline Precious for stars. Here is how they turned out. Pretty sweet, right? I totally love them. I loved them so much, I was terrified I would somehow manage to screw up my vinyls and ruin the mani, so I photographed them first. haha
Luckily, the application of my vinyls was just fine. Look at how cute the little daleks are! Ahhhh! I painted over top of the vinyls to add some extra detail using my smallest brush, along with my black nail art pen from Sally Hansen.
Oh, here is what OPI Lincoln Park in the Dark looks like on it's own. It is super rich and opaque. It only needed one coat.
Thank you so much for coming by today! You guys, I wish I was rich so I could buy all of the things I want. Tara came out with another cool set of vinyls that I really want. And the whole ramen plan isn't going to work. It turns out you can't have ramen when you are trying to follow the South Beach diet. :P Have a great day everyone!

Nails Inc Fibre Optic & Galaxy Polish Swatches!
Good morning. I have two new polishes to show off from Nails Inc. today! They are both gorgeous and glittery and therefore I automatically love them. :)
I decided to try them both out over top of a plain navy cream - Loreal After Hours. The first one I'll show is Nails Inc. Fibre Optic in Mayfair Mews. This has multiple, tiny blue iridescent and holographic bar glitters in a navy jelly base. The base is extremely thin and would probably take a while to build up, so I wore undies to save time, but it is loaded with glitter, so this is just two coats over top of After Hours.
This next one is equally awesome, and is definitely a good polish for making a galaxy. It is Nails Inc. Galaxy in Trafalgar Crescent. It has small and medium sized hex glitters in an iridescent base. I didn't go all out and do an actually galaxy here because I wanted to show it on it's own. It's pretty good. I'm sure there are lots of girls who would be satisfied with this for their galaxy nails. I liked how the iridescence created different light and dark spaces without any effort!
I'll tell you what, Sephora sucks me in every time with their 'spend $50 get free shipping' promo. You would think I would have learned by now. One of these beauties was purchased specifically to tip me up over the $50 mark. I don't remember which one it was now, but I am sure glad I caved in and bought it!
Here is Loreal After Hours by itself. Try to ignore how streaky it looks. I need a new bottle of topcoat. It's not the polishes fault!
Thanks for checking out these pretty polishes! I have my last paper to write this weekend, but I am graduating from college in 2 weeks, so get ready for some nail art! I am so excited that I will finally have time again!
Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway - it ends on 12/15!
Have a great day!

Laid-Back NEW31DC Day 4 - Pink
For this manicure, I decided not to go with a Valentine's Day theme, even though I will probably still be wearing it on that day. :) Valentine's Day is not something that we typically make a big celebration of, but I love pink, and who knows - maybe my husband will surprise me with something.
Anyway, I decided to try something that I have been wanting to do for a VERY long time - take a look!
Pink galaxies! The very first time I saw a galaxy manicure, I was smitten. They are so beautiful, and I feel like even though the classic black ones are cool, I really wanted to try it out in different colors. I did a green one before - just on one nail, for my Skyrim manicure, but didn't snap a pic before painting over it. So now, I am super excited that I have a full hand has galaxy nails and I'm really digging it.
For this look, I started out with a base of Essie Sure Shot, which is just beautiful on its own. Then, I sponged on Kleancolor Sweet Pink, OPI You Only Live Twice, Revlon Cafe Pink, L.A. Colors Atomic Force, Zoya Kimber, and Julep Audrey. After that, I added a thin coat of Wet n Wild Hannah Pinktana, then a coat of Nubar White Polka Dot. Here's a pic of Essie Sure Shot by itself. So pretty!
Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to look at everyone else's pink creations!
