40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Glitter Topper or Flakie

Hi everyone. I have another Christmas-y mani for you today! Today we are all showing off different ways that you can wear a glitter topper or a flakie (those polishes that you cannot wear alone). I did some simple striping using vinyls.

The base color for my nails is Nicole by OPI Challenge Red-y. I then used the striped outline from my You Polish decals to make these wide striped and the green glitter topper is L.A. Girl Glitter Addict nailpolish in Purge.

Here is what Challenge Red-y looks like on it's own. It's a nice red cream, and went on in two smooth coats. It's a great Christmas Red!

Make sure you check out what everyone else did for this week's challenge! It's going to be sparkly - yay!

Glitter Sandwich - L.A. Girls Blissful Blackberry Scented Polish

Hi everyone! Today I have some nails that started out as one thing, and then changed to something completely different. I bought this polish at Drug Mart over the summer and was too obsessed with bright colors to wear it. Well it is perfect for fall and winter, so I pulled it out with the intention of doing some nail art. However, when I painted on the first few strokes and realized it was a jelly, I decided I would do my first glitter sandwich. And oh boy did I get crazy with the glitters!

I started off with 3 coats of Blissful Blackberry so I could show it by itself. Then, I added a coat of NYC Big City Dazzle. I've had this polish forever, but I don't think I've ever shown it, so I'll have to do that for you guys sometime. It's a very pretty and subtle glitter topper. So then, I added a coat of OPI Divine Swine from my beloved Muppet Collection, which is another polish I've never shown on here, but have had for months. And last, but not least, I added Color Club Diamond Drops, yet another polish I have never shared. It is awesome. This is actually the first time I've used a shard glitter, and I was surprised at how easy it was to apply. After that, I added another coat of L.A. Girls Blissful Blackberry to complete the sandwich.

Here is Blissful Blackberry all by itself. It is quite pretty on its own, and has a very light berry scent. I can't smell it unless I actually put my nails right up to my nose and sniff. And that looks very weird, but I still did it haha.

Well, thanks so much for looking. I have two more weeks of school, and then I will have more time for nail art. Yay! Sorry I neglect the blog so much during the semester. I've gotta get good grades after all, and that's hard enough when you're working full time. I'm still looking for a SHORT nail art challenge to participate in for the holidays if no one wants to participate in mine. I simply do not have the time to join in on any challenge until after 12/11. All the challenges I've seen started this week, or 12/1, and I've got finals, which means there will be no fancy nail art until that last final is completed. I haven't had any takers on my abbreviated nail art challenge idea, but if any of you decide you want to, or know of someone who is having one that you can share with me, please comment below. Have a great day!

Copy Cat Sat - My Pretty Nailz

My nails this week are inspired by Deriniti at My Pretty Nailz, aka the queen of Konad. Seriously, this lady is GOOD. I was inspired by the way she used multiple plates to stamp several different designs on her nails. I decided to give it a go, and since I want something summery, I thought it would be a great time to try out Zoya Arizona. I have had this lovely color for a while now, but hadn't had a chance to wear it yet. Now that it is on, I am in love. Love. Anyway here is what I ended up with!
Zoya Arizona, Misa Party In The Masquerade, Pure Ice Black Rage and L.A. Colors Gold Glitter

Here is Arizona by herself - isn't she lovely?? Who would have thought an orange would look good on me? This is seriously one of the prettiest oranges I have ever seen. Love it!

Here it is after I added Misa Party In The Masquerade, which is a polish I won from a giveaway a while back. It is very neon. I had not realized this when I looked at it in the bottle. I really like it!

After this, I just added my stamping...which didn't go so well. I thought I picked a small enough stamp for my little nails, but it really only ended up fitting well on  my thumb. Whoops. After stamping, I added some gold glitter with a L.A. Girls striper polish I got at the dollar store, and that was that.

The plates I used are Mash-50 and Mash-43. Not my favorite mani ever, but I am really happy with the colors I picked. It is quite summery. I really do love my thumb. Here is a pic. I wish all the nails looked this good. *Sigh*

Deriniti has it down to a science, I'm telling you this girl is a stamping genius! Thanks for looking! I have a special manicure I'm working on already for next week, so make sure you don't miss it! :)
