40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Films

Hello and happy Friday! Today's theme is Films, and I was inspired by a polish that I had made for my friend at Christmas. You see, she is a big Disney fan, and a bigger fan of the movie Frozen, and and even bigger fan of a specific character in the movie: Kristoff. Yep, our fun-loving, unassuming hero is her favorite Disney character, and she collects all sorts of Kristoff items. She has loads of figurines and other toys, and I wanted to get her something one of a kind, so I had the lovely Kayla of Creative Cuticles Nail Polish make me a Kristoff nail polish for her.

Look at all the sparkle! Like Kristoff's beloved ice, this shines with it's multitude of tiny silver glitters, and also has glitters inspired by his clothing colors: red shards, teal squares, dark grey hexes, and small white hexes and sqaures. There are also a bunch of holographic hexes that shift from silver to a beautiful iridescent blue. So many glitters! :) This polish turned out so beautiful, and I couldn't be happier. Oh and guess what we named it?! Just Guess!!!

We named it "A Bit Of A Fixer Upper"! Squeeeeeee! Ahhhh so anyway, I decided to show off this lovely polish with my films prompt and do a Kristoff manicure. I drew his face on my middle nail using my new tiny paintbrushes from Winstonia (LOVE!).

Here are the polishes I used for him:
  • Pure Ice Kiss Me Here, Black Rage, & SuperStar!
  • Julep Nellie, Clara, & Alicia
  • China Glaze Kalahari Kiss & Adventure Red-y
  • Essie Where's My Chauffeur?
  • Sinful Colors Nirvana

Thank you so much for stopping by to look at my blog today! Make sure you check out what everyone else did for their "films" manicures!

Rainbow Honey January 2016 Mystery Bag

Hello and happy Thursday! It's Friday-Eve, so that means the weekend is almost here! Woooooo! Today, I have for you my mystery bag from Rainbow Honey! I got two full-size polishes this month, a lip balm, lip scrub, and whipped cream soap.  The lip stuff is cucumber melon scented and smells so good. I haven't used the soap yet, but I really like the concept. :D

This first polish is Called Planet M. It is a lovely deep magenta pink with tiny iridescent flakies, and blue shimmer. I did two coats here with one coat of topcoat.

The stamping was done using Mundo de Unas Sunflower and BM-XL29. Man I love my MdUs, they are my favorite!

The other polish I received is called Caramel Forest. It is a glitter topper with orange metallic hexes, large white squares, small black and gold hexes, and gold flakies and shimmer. It is shown here over Rainbow Honey Mr. Saturn. It's super sparkly in person. I did two coats and then added topcoat.

Thank you so much for looking today. I will be back on Friday or Saturday with this week's challenge post for the Nail Tarts!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - 3 Shades of Purple

Hi guys! This week we are showing off various ways to wear three shades of purple at once. I'm actually pretty displeased with this one, but ah well. I should have tested it out on paper first and I didn't! You would think I would have learned my lesson by now, but apparently, I have not. :D Anyway, I used three purple polishes I had not yet used, including a new glitter from Different Dimension that I bought myself at Christmas.

Unfortunately, I made a bad choice about one of the polishes and it didn't layer well at all. Sally Hansen Purple Craze looked like a bright purple cream, but went on over the glitter a dark terrible mess. :( Oh why didn't I test it out first??? Well, anyway, I painted my nails using Different Dimension Wars Would Never Start first, then I taped off sections and painted over top using Milani Ultra Violet and Sally Hansen Purple Craze. Even though it didn't quite go as planned, there is a lot of purple-y goodness happening here, so I can't complain too much.

Here is what Wars Would Never Start looks like on it's own. It's a gorgeous dark purple-black jelly packed with tiny metallic purple glitters, tiny silver squares, and various purple hex glitters. It's a great mix of lots of different purple sparkles, so I love it of course. I did two coats here to reach opacity.

Thank you as always for taking the time to read my blog. Make sure you take a look at what everyone else did with their three purples! this one is bound to be full of beautiful manis!

Rainbow Honey December 2015 Mystery Bag

Good morning and happy hump day! :D Today, I finally have my Rainbow Honey mystery bag from December! They changed up their packaging a little bit - look at how cute the bag is that this came in!

I received two polishes, a mini perfume, and a little tub of shea and cocoa butter for my thirsty skin! I swatched both polishes and added a bit of stamping just to mix things up a little.

First, I have Majestic Bluewhale. Look at the gorgeous blue shimmer magical colors! It truly is majestic and is very reminiscent of ocean water. Below, I added a little bit of stamping using BM-XL25 and Mundo de Unas Spring Green.

Next up, we have Rainbow Honey Smokey Creme. This polish was a bit disappointing. It was terribly separated when it arrived, and no matter how much I shook it, rolled it, etc., it just would not mix back up. So, as you can see in my swatch, there were tiny specks of white where the white had separated itself from the color. I added some pretty stamping anyway. :D This is plate BPL-028 and Mundo de Unas Nabu.

Thank you so much for looking! I am already swatching my January mystery bag. I fell super behind with my blogging over the holiday. /(><)\ I'm trying to get back at it, and have soooo many manis done and just waiting to post! Anyway, I'll be back Friday for the Nail Tarts' challenge. Yay!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Things That Fly

Good morning! This week's theme for the Nail Tarts' challenge is Things That Fly. I thought for a while on this one, but it didn't take long for me to decide that I needed spaceships!

I used my new Nerd Lacquer, I Think You Call Me...Sexy for my base. It looks like space with stars and has tons of sparkle. I wanted a variety and had several stamping plates featuring spaceships, so I just used them all! I made these decals using mostly images from BM-XL134 and the image on my thumb is from JR-31. I got this Nerd Lacquer and the JR plate (My Online Shop) from my secret agent in a Christmas exchange, and I thought I was going to DIE. I cried opening everything, but there will be a separate post for that!

The decals were done using Mundo de Unas Light Gray and Blue.  I used Sally Hansen Graphite Gravity, a silver OPI that has no name, a silver polish from The New Black that is also nameless, and some of the Mundo de Unas blue to color in the decals.

Here is what Nerd Lacquer I Think You Call Me...Sexy looks like on it's own. It's a fantastic blue jelly packed with holographic shimmer, tiny blue and silver metallic hexes, medium sized blue and silver metallic hexes, and larger pale blue metallic hexes. It's gorgeous. And also, it's a Dr. Who polish, so I love it even more just for that.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Make sure you check out what everyone else did for this week's prompt. I know there is at least one other TARDIS out there. ;)

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Pale Blue Base

Good morning lovelies and happy Friday! Woooo! I got so many new polishes for Christmas, my head is spinning over here trying to wear them all as fast as possible. For this mani, I decided that I would wear a new Cirque (and my first Cirque!) that was gifted to me by Amy from The Fancy Side for winning a nail art contest around Halloween (so not Christmas, but I HAD to wear it with all my other new holos from Christmas!). It is a light blue holographic polish and it is BEAUTIFUL. I did some simple stamping using swirling patters from my new CICI&SISI plates (yay Christmas!). These swirly images are from plates 02 & 05.

Oh I wish that it wasn't so dreary here. I tried flash, no flash, 5 different types of light, a flashlight, and nothing seemed to help my camera capture the holo goodness. Wahhhhhh! Anyway, the Cirque polish is called Cabana Capri, and I stamped over top of it using Bear Pawlish Poor Unfortunate Souls and Cupcake Polish Berry Good Looking. This mani looked so much more amazing in real life. I can't even express how much sparkle and rainbow was happening.

Here is what Cabana Capri looked like on it's own. The holo is so much better than my camera shows. :( I only did two coats here, which is really good for a holo in my opinion.

I've decided that all these holos are going to have to wait until the sun decides to show itself again. And then I shall re-swatch Cirque, and swatch all of the other ones I got (there are SOOO many haha!) and share them with you properly. Thank you so much for checking out my mani for this week. Make sure you look at all the other lovely pale blue manis!

Delight In Nails Most Popular Posts of 2015

Good morning and happy hump-day! I have been working on compiling my list from this past year of your favorite posts. Today, I have them all put together for you so that we can take a look back on this past year. :) It seems that my most popular posts are the swatches, which surprised me, but I suppose I do an awful lot of searches for swatches myself, so I should not have been surprised at all! Come take a look at what this past year brought us!

I am actually pleased that this was my most popular post. I was pretty proud of the splatter mani. It came out even better than I had hoped it would!

Everyone loves a good swatch post! These colors from Rainbow Honey were pretty nice. I especially love the purple, and it's my belief that those swatches are what people came trekking to my site to see. :P

This was another HUGE swatch post. I think there were so many swatches in this post that it got a lot of views simply because it had a lot of content. These colors were ok, but not great.

Another swatch post. People, I was somewhat disappointed. I know swatches are great to look for online, but come on. The art is where it's at! These colors weren't even good. It was actually my least favorite Rainbow Honey mystery bag I got. Although, as an aside, the bath goodies smelled pretty good.

Ok well, I know I just complained about the swatch posts, BUT these beauties were all in the best mystery bag I got. The polish colors were amazing, the topcoat was amazing (and SCENTED!), and the soap and perfume smelled heavenly too. I can't blame you guys one bit for wanting to know more about these. :)

Aaaand this one was full of purple, so clearly that is why it was so popular. The textured one was sparkly and matte and textured all at once. Love.

Ooh yay, nail art! I was actually pretty in love with this mani since it was inspired by an artist that always makes me think of one of my favorite men: my dad. He loves M.C. Escher, and as a result, I do too. I got some new tiny paint brushes for Christmas, so I'm pretty sure, I could execute this design even better now. I can't wait to start using those bad boys!

Delight In Nails: 40 Great Nail Art Ideas – Hobbies

I really didn't like this mani, truth be told. I think the saving grace was the polish underneath, which is beautiful. I wish I had bought the full size set but I was too poor. You can never go wrong with a neon rainbow glitter gradient. Mmmhmm.

Delight In Nails: Kawaii Kitty Nailart Tutorial

Ok, thank you guys so much for liking this mani and the accompanying tutorial as much as I did. Seriously, I was so proud of myself for this one. And then, Brethil from Druid Nails followed my tutorial and posted it. I was thrilled because I have always liked her blog, and was fangirling all over the place when I realized that she READ mine. And LIKED something I did. Eeeep! She did such a great job and put little paw prints on her thumbs. So cute! Oh and also, I entered this mani in a contest and WON thanks to all of the support I received. I got a sweet kitty purse (it has ears!) and a kitty print scarf. You can bet I rocked that at work and OWNED it lol. So thank you a million times to all of my followers! You guys are truly the best. I never would have thought in a million years that I would have as much support as I did, and actually win a voting based contest. Whaaaaa---!!!

Delight In Nails: Stamping with MoYou London XL Pro Plate 12

I was surprised to see this one on here, but now that I look at it again - I shouldn't be. The gorgeous glitter base, and near perfect stampig (which I swear hardly ever happens for me), really did make for a truly elegant mani. I wish all my stamping would come out this great!

Thank you so much for taking this trip back in time with me! I plan to do another post featuring all of MY favorite manis from 2015 as well. Hopefully it doesn't take me as long to put together as this one did. I'll tell you what, the holidays have got me tuckered out! See you in a couple days with a pretty mani for the Nail Tarts!
