Golden Oldie Thursday - Gradient

I have more Julep polishes to share today! I have an abundance of them and have been just awful about getting them swatched, so you will probably be seeing even more! I decided to do a vertical gradient today since I have never done one before.

I used Julep Eileen for by base. It's a creamy white. I added Julep Donna and Francis, plus Eileen to do my gradient and then added some stamping with Konad Special White. The plate is Mash-43, and I used Out The Door Northern Lights to top it all off. This is Eileen all by itself. It is actually a pretty nice white polish - very opaque. This was only two coats.

Here is what my gradient looked like before I stamped over it and added the holo sparkle.

Please pardon the ink on my hand...I have a lot going on and needed to remember some things. I absolutely adore this manicure and am hoping I can make it last for at least week before I have to take it off. Make sure you look at what everyone else did for their gradients!

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Brown

Good evening. The three brown polishes that I have for you today are all from Julep. I started out with a base of Julep Amber. It has a matte suede finish, and is really very pretty. I added a  simple glitter gradient to it using Julep Hilary (gold glitter) and an unnamed polish that came in the New Year's box last year. I added essie matte about you to keep the entire thing matte.

Here is Julep Amber all by itself. It's a nice suede finish. I don't have many of these, so it is nice to have in my collection.

Thanks for looking. Please make sure that you look at what everyone else did for today!

Golden Oldie Thursday - Free Choice

For today, I pretty much just have a few swatches for you because I wanted to use these Wet N Wild polishes I bought ages ago. This is Wet n Wild Heatwave and Fergie Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Here is Heatwave all by itself. Short and sweet today - I'm off to the beach with my hubby to see the sunset!

Thank you for stopping by and make sure you take a look at what the others did for this challenge!

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Purple

Hi everyone! Today, I have as pretty purple to show off that I bought myself for my birthday back in April. As you all probably know, I love purple, although to be fair, I love pretty much all colors, purple is just one that I'm always really drawn to. This is China Glaze Grape Juice. It is so pretty and has an awesome iridescent shimmer to it, too!

I added some simple stamping using Konad plate m79 and Konad Special White polish. I forgot how much I love this stamp. I haven't busted this plate out in over a year! Shame on me!

So, there you have it: simple and easy nail art that doesn't impede the purple power. Mmmm, I love me some purple polish! :P

Have a great evening everyone, and make sure you take a look at everyone else's purple manicures for today!

Golden Oldie Thursday - Red

Today I have two old reds for you: Cover Girl Cabernet and China Glaze Ruby Pumps. Cabernet is another one of my ancient polishes. I've had it for at least 8 years. Ruby Pumps is a bit newer, but I've had it for maybe two or three years and still hadn't used it. Here is what I came up with.

I used striping tape over Cabernet, but you can hardly see it. I decided to add a little rhinestone for my accent.

Here is Cover Girl Cabernet all by itself. As with all my other old polishes filled with terrible chemicals, it is still in awesome shape. It is still a fantastic formula, and it barely chipped at all after several days.

Thanks for looking and make sure that you check out what everyone else did!

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Cremes

For today's post, I decided to try out some one-stroke flowers again. I used Sally Hansen Kiwi Bikin for my base, and added the flowers with Julep Dendrie. The colors in the images below are not accurate. Something weird happened when I added the topcoat and Dendrie went from a pale grey to a weird beige. Kiwi Bikini seemed to be unaffected though. I'll have to show Dendrie some other time without topcoat, so you can see what she really looks like.

Here is Kiwi Bikini by itself. It is a nice color and took about three thin coats to become completely opaque.

Thanks for looking today. Please take a look at what everyone else did for today.

Golden Oldie Thursday - with a silver accent - Ninjas!

I have been dying to use this stamping plate, and finally I am busting it out. I feel like these are some of the most badass nails I've done in a long time!! This image is from Mash-47.

I decided to keep the nail art simple, but these throwing stars pretty much required a cute ninja to go with them, so here he is! Sqeeeeeeee! I love these nails so much, I may not be able to post again for at least two weeks. ;)

Anyway, this mani has two golden oldies - Sally Hansen Heartbeat Creme and Pure Chrome. Both of these polishes are ancient. The chrome is from Sally Hansen's very first set of 'chrome makeup'. My dad gave this to me. He works for the company that made the pigment for the polish. Heartbeat Creme is one that I have had for at least 8 or 9 years as well. Here is Heartbeat Creme on it's own. It's a good polish, and it was still nice and thin even after all these years.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out what everyone else did with a silver accent!
