June Tri Polish Challenge = Red + Pink + Purple - Day 4

I should seriously change the name of my blog to 'Better Late Than Never' because it's my favorite thing to say. BUT, I did have the mani done on Thursday, I just didn't have it in me to edit the pics and write the blog post last night after it was done because I really needed to get to bed after 2 days straight of studying and finals. I was exhausted! So for this mani, I had this idea in my head that did not work out so well in practice, but since I am short one time, you are getting the first attempt. I still think that this could be successful, just maybe with colors that contrast a bit more, and maybe with more time. :)

So here is the obligatory bottle shot so that you can see the three bottles of polish that have been getting more use in the past 2 weeks than they EVER have before.

And here is mani I came up with. I started off with two coats of Misa Party In The Masquerade, then created my own stencils using masking tape and one of the many scrapbooking punchers that I have. My first thought was that it would be super cool to sponge around the butterfly image, but I failed miserably and just didn't have enough energy to try again. SO, I decided to just sponge onto through the stencil that was left after I punched out the butterflies. Side note: haha I just said 'punched out the butterflies' I'm violent today! :P

So there you have it. I will be trying this again, because I am convinced that I can make it work. I just need better colors and more time! I have one more final which is a 90 minute timed test with 3 essay questions. It sounds horrible, so I saved it for last. Wish me luck - I'm taking it tonight so that I can enjoy my weekend.

June Tri Polish Challenge = Red + Pink + Purple - Day 3

Hey guys! So, it's day 3 of the Tri Polish Challenge for June, and I have a fun one for you. I have to say, having only three colors to work with over the past week and a half has really forced me to get creative. I like it! Now, if only I didn't have finals this week. Ugh. So, you know this will be short and sweet so that I can go get my study on. you won't hear from me again until Thursday night, which will be the last Tri Polish post straight after my four-hour Econ final. I will be so grateful to be painting my nails that night! Well, enough chit-chat. Here are the three colors I used for this mani.

Sick of this pic yet???? Ok so here are my pretty nails.

I love how these turned out. I was completely winging it, too. I didn't really have a plan, but it all worked out in the end. I used essie playdate for my base, then randomly placed striping tape, then sponged over that with Nicole by OPI Sealed With A Kris and Misa Party In The Masquerade. So there you have it. I hope you all have a great week!

June Tri Polish Challenge = Red + Pink + Purple - Day 2

Oh boy! It's day two of June's Tri Polish challenge and I have to say, I am starting to like these three colors together. :) I'm sure by the end of next week, I will be totally over it, though! So for today's mani, I was lacking a bit in the inspiration department, so I decided to do a nice dotticure. Here are the three colors I used.

I started off with essie playdate for my base, then added the pink dots first in Misa Party In The Masquerade. I added dark red dots in Nicole by OPI Sealed With A Kris to set the two colors off. I LOVE dots! I think if I were forced to wear the same nail art for the rest of my life, it would probably be dots. But, let's try not to think about that horrifying scenario! :)

Hope you liked my dotticure! I'll try to get more creative with my next two manis!

June Tri Polish Challenge = Red + Pink + Purple - Day 1

Hey everyone! I apologize that my posts have been rather limited lately. I have been extremely busy with school and it has been taking up all of my time lately. This means that I have only been getting to paint my nails about once a week, if even. Oh the horror! BUT, things should hopefully get a bit easier in July since I will only have one class going on that month instead of two. I miss painting my nails! Anyway, I decided to do the Tri Polish challenge for June, and am pretty excited to come up with more manis that feature these three colors. It was pretty hard to pick out a pink, purple, and red that go together, but I'm happy with my choices. :)

I used Misa Party In The Masquerade for my pink, essie playdate for my purple, and Nicole by OPI Sealed With A Kris for my red.

For my first mani with these three colors, I decided to go floral. I never would have paired these colors together if it were not for this challenge, so I'm glad that I was forced to think outside the box when it came to the nail art. :)

Wel, what do you all think?! I actually really like it. Oh and here is Misa Party In The Masquerade all by itself. It is fabulously neon, which my camera hates, but this is the best shot I got.

Thanks for looking, I'll be back Thursday with another mani for this Tri Polish challenge!

Thank You, Missy of Gnarly Gnails!

Good evening! I hope you are all having a good weekend! I am super excited to show you what I received from Missy as the winner of her giveaway! First of all, let me just say, that hers is one of the blogs that I have been following ever since my little nail polish blog obsession began. So, when I got an email from her telling me that I was one of the winners of her giveaway, it was like getting an email from Michael Jordan haha. I was thrilled. I knew it would be a grab bag with one franken made by her, but when the package arrived, I freaked OUT. She was so unbelievably generous and sent me so many goodies, I was seriously shocked. So thank you again, Missy! I know I said it a few times already, but I am just so grateful!

Now, with that being said, it's time to show off some of the awesome things she sent me.

When I received this package, I was seriously shocked! I had no idea that this grab bag would actually be a grab box full of tons of nail goodies!

From left to right, we have: Missy's own concoction she called Orchadia, Goldie #6, Shimmer Polish Lorene, and Nicole I Lilac Gumdrops.

I also received OPI When Monkeys Fly!, P2 Color Victim Sparkling Surprise, and BB Couture Honey Bunny. These last two are brands that I have never tried before, so I am excited to try them out!

She sent three polishes from Black Cat Lacquer, too! This is an indie brand I have never tried, so I'm super excited about these as well. From left to right, we have Party Monster, Six Feet Under, and Everyday is Halloween.

And last, but not least are all of the nail art goodies. There was one Mash plate, two plates from Bundle Monster, purple striping tape, a wheel of multi-colored rhinestones, foil, a tiny bottle of little silver moon-shaped bling, and a set of nail patches from Cheeky! I still cannot believe the generosity! I am so excited about winning this giveaway, and I just hope that someday I will be able to pay it forward. Thanks again, Missy!

I swatched her pretty creation, Orchadia as well, so you could all see what this one-of-a-kind polish looks like. It is so pretty. It is a raspberry jelly base with tons of different metallic hex glitters and tiny shimmery glitter as well. It went on pretty nicely too, the glitters fought me a little to come out of the bottle, but I won. :) I am just so excited to own something that Missy made herself!

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you enjoyed this little post. You will see more of the beauties in upcoming nail art, I'm sure!

Julep's March, April, and May It Girl Boxes + Add-Ons! PIC HEAVY

Good morning! I got my March and April Julep Boxes in the mail a long time ago, but unfortunately just wasn't up to blogging about it. Now that I have finally had a chance to swatch them all plus my add-ons PLUS my May box that just came, I am going to spam you with swatches. :) Here is what I got!

I'll start with the March It Girl box first. This first polish is named Shenae, it is a beautiful mint green with a iridescent shimmer. Love.

Next is Teri, which is a nice coral cream.

Simone is a lovely lavender with am iridescent blue shimmer to it.

I also got a couple colors as add-ons, including Leila and Lucky. Leila is a pretty pale yellow shimmer.

Lucky is a gorgeous green and gold glitter combo. It is quite dense and very pretty. It was supposed to be for St. Patrick's Day, but I'm sure I  can find another use for it. :)

Next, we have the colors from my April It Girl box. The first color I have to show off from this box is Eden. This is a bright Purple-Blue. It's very royal looking. It dried with a satin, almost matte finish.

Next is Mackenzie. It is a bright green shimmer and very pretty.

And last, but not least is Abbie. This is a very bright yellow cream. It's pretty but I haven't had enough sun to wear it well, yet. :P

And last, but not least, is the May It Girl Box. I got one add on with this box as well - Zelda. So, here we go! The first polish I have to show off is Clara. She is a lovely nude-peach cream, and will be great for nail art!

This is Coco, which is a dark, vampy, creamy maroon that leans toward brown. I like it and can't wait to play with it in some fall manis in another six months!

Next, we have Paris, which is a cool glitter topper unlike any other that I already own. It has tiny holo glitter mixed with gold and silver medium-sized, holographic, hex glitters in a clear base. I'm showing it here in one coat over Coco.

And last, is my add-on, Zelda. I bought it solely for the name, as the Legend of Zelda is the first video game I owned. I know it's not named after that Zelda, but I don't care. :) It's a really pretty rose gold foil. It looks like it will be awesome for stamping.

Well, that is all. I hope you enjoyed this post and these lovely colors I am sharing. I've got even more to share, but that is for another post. Thanks for reading!

Birthday Haul!

Hey guys! I told you I would get this posted eventually, and decided to make it my first order of business now that I am done with challenges for a while. I got a TON of nail stuff for my birthday that I was so excited to share with you all. Well, better late than never, right?! Check this out!

I got a surprise package in the mail which turned out to be from my aunt! She sent me The New Black Runway Collection and two of the Nails Inc. Feathers polishes - Cornwall and Brighton. Thanks again, Auntie Laura!

I went to Sally's Beauty Supply with my birthday coupon, and they hand Seche Vite for $5.99, so I picked up two bottles, and China Glaze was buy two get one free, so I ended up with the Holographic beauties - Infra Red, Get Outta My Space, and Take a Trek.

Birthday coupons are a dangerous thing...I picked up twelve - yes I said twelve! - polishes from butter LONDON. I've been wanting to get myself some of these for SO long, so I went for it! Pictured above we have Knees Up, Victoriana, Scallywag, Fiddlesticks, Fishwife, and Disco Biscuit. I've already worn all of these except for Knees Up and Disco Biscuit, but they will get their day in the sun. Don't you worry! :)

They had these Christmas packs on sale for $12.99, so I pretty much couldn't say no. This is Shambolic, Jack the Lad, and Scuppered.

Oh my - I love my butter LONDONs! This is Rosie Lee, Fairy Cake, and The Black Knight. Happy birthday to me!

Birthday coupons from Sephora meant that I had to claim my free gifts from Benefit (awesome mascara plus highlighter call Lighten Up, which I pretty much can't live without now), my three free samples, and a big bottle of face wash for my Clarisonic. Woo! Oh and of course, nailpolish - see below.

I also got the Disney Jasmine collection of minis, plus two new polishes from Sephora by OPI. This is Caught With My Khakis Down and What a Broad.

And last, but not least, my sweet husband bought me a few polishes too! He picked out the OPIs himself - nice job, right?! This is Tiffany Case and DS Luxurious. He knew I wanted those Essie polishes, so he got the for me too (Where's My Chauffeur and Marshmallow)! Yay!

Hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know if you are interested in seeing future haul posts like this one. Maybe I will start doing it more often! Have a great week!
