Summer Challenge Day 8 - Beach

Day 8 (July 15th) of the Summer Challenge is Beach. I was going to do a traditional sunset mani using inspiration from our last vacation...but when looking through my photos, I found one that inspired me to go in a whole different direction. When I think Beach, I think of sand, so I decided to try to make my nails look like a sandy beach with some rocks...I went a little abstract on this one. Here is the result.
I started out with the closest color I have to sand, which is Shu Uemura Coquetttish Brown. Then I decided it wasn't quite right, so I sponged on some gold using Avon Nailwear Pro in Glimmering Gold. After that, I tried to make some 'rocks' using a my dotting tools. For this, I used Pure Ice in Kiss Me Here, Julep Kate, Townley in Mocha Chino, and the brown is from Finger Paints. Here is the photo I used for inspiration.
Here is a picture of Shu Uemura Coquettish Brown by itself.
And here it is after I sponged on the Glimmering Gold from Avon.
Thank you so much for looking! A full outline of the challenge can be found here. Please be sure to check out the other participants in this challenge, too!

    1. Thanks! I probably never would have bought a gold like this on my own, but I won it in a giveaway, and I am glad I did. :)
