Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Mermaid Tails and Drunken Sails Swatches and Review

 *PR Sample
Good morning! I have a new polish to show off from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer which she created recently for the Hella Holo Customs group. It's a private facebook group, but if you would like to join so that you can get your hands on this beauty, just follow the instructions at the end of this post! Mermaid Tails and Drunken sails is a gorgeous shimmer-filled linear holo with shifting iridecent glitters and red to gold shifting sparks. It seriously looks exactly like what Ariel's tail would look like in real life. Squuueeee! Now you all know I have a thing for mermaids and particular The Little Mermaid. Love that movie so so so much, so this polish with hold a special place in my heart for that simple fact alone!

This is only available for preorder through 7pm today, so hurry hurry hurry if you want to get it!

I did two coats here, with no topcoat. It dried to a satiny finish, and is pretty thick. Julie created this polish so that it could be a one to two coater, so be mindful that you will need to wait for the first coat to fully dry before you go for that second coat to prevent dragging!

I took so many pictures of this because it seriously looks different from every angle! Check out these bottle shots to see what I mean. Ooooooohhhh ahhhhhhhh! Oh I just love all the sparkle!

There is also a pink (Holomelon) and purple (Atalanta) with the same finish in the collection that you can find swatched all over the internet. They are gorgeous. Get them while you can ladies!

We got some sun after I took most of my photos, so I have a few phone pics for you of this one, too, so you can see the lovely linear holo a bit better!

I will be back in a couple days with another mani for you, and hopefully some nail art!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Siren's Lament

*PR Sample
Good evening. I received a bunch of polishes to review for you lovelies, so, I have a review of one of the newest polishes from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer for you today! This is Siren's Lament and it is a very deep teal polish with shifting pink to blue to gold glass flecks. It dries to a satiny finish, and I did two coats here. Take a look at this beauty!

This polish is going to release 2/25 in her shop, and will run for $12, so be sure to hop in there early if you want to snag it! Here are a few macro shots so you can see the flecks better, too!

The consistency of this polish was a bit on the thick side, but she will be adding thinner, so it should be better for all of you. I really had very little problem with the application other than the consistency, but it went on very evenly and the glass flecks distributed well, too. Oh, I will also have you know that despite the color, I escaped with no stains. I always get nervous with the blue pigments, but I was fine using my normal base coat. \(><)/

Here is what this baby looks like with topcoat and in full sun. I took these quick shots as I was walking into work because of course the sun popped out during my drive and I didn't know how long it would last! Please pardon the poorer quality as I snapped them on my smartphone. :D

I really do love this polish (I'm such a sucker for teal and purple!!!), AND I will have a bunch more to show off for you too over the coming days/weeks. I hope the sun comes out again for the holos!

Thank you so much for looking, and make sure to stop by again so you can see the other lovelies I received from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Red

Happy Friday! Oh you guys, I am so happy the weekend is almost here. I am soooo tired. I have been so disinterested in blogging lately. I have to get myself reorganized over here. I'm pretty sure my problem is just that I have been flying by the seat of my pants, and have not been planning things out like I should. So this weekend, I fully intend to create a new schedule for myself, which includes exercise, sleep, and FUN, so that I am not driving myself crazy. Ha! Today's nail art features a reverse gradient with stamping. I have only done this once before, and it has been years, so I decided to do it again. It's really subtle, but I like it!

I started off with Revlon Fearless for my base, and then added a gradient with OPI Lost on Lombard. After that, I picked out some similar stamping polishes (because I knew these two would not stamp that well), and did a stamping gradient in the opposite direction. I used stamping plate05 from CICI&SISI for the repeating tribal image.

Here is what Fearless looks like on it's own. It's a bright red-leaning-orange, and went on it two coats. The first coat is extremely thin, but the second coat built it right up. It was much quicker than I expected because the polish looks so thin.

Thank you so much for looking. Make sure you take a peek at all the other lovely red manicures!

Born Pretty Store - Clear Jelly Stamper Review & Floral Nail Art

Hello! Today, I have some stamping nail art using the clear jelly stamper from Born Pretty Store. They sent me this stamper with a few other items to review, and I could not have been more excited to receive this particular item. I have seen so many other people use it, and I was super stoked to be able to test it out for myself.

It's funny, I was so excited to try it, but once I had it in my possession, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it. I decided to ultimately just show how much easier it was to get perfect placement with it (you all know I have messed that up more than once!). I started off with two coats of KleanKolor Wave of Peppermint, then used this stamper to place a floral pattern over my nail using MoYou Pro XL-12 and Mundo de Unas Mexican Pink. After that, I used the stamper again to place the rose image from CICI&SISI plate 24 and Mundo de Unas purple. I was able to place it in the same location and angle on each nail. No way could I have placed it so well if I couldn't see it like I can with this stamper. So, basically, I love it!

It arrived with a scraper as well, and I found that the scraper was not that great. I like that it's plastic and not metal, but It left stripes of polish over the image that picked up on the stamper, so I had to switch back to my old trusty scraper.

Here is what Wave of Peppermint looks like on it's own. It is a scented polish, and as you can imagine, smells like peppermint.

I have a discount code for Born Pretty Store to share with you, too. If you haven't already gotten one, do yourself a favor and buy one. It will be 10% off and it's already pretty inexpensive!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you all have a great day. I'll be back on Friday!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Love

Hey everyone. Today's mani is a bit of a fail in my opinion, but I'm showing it anyway because it's all I've got. I wanted to make some decals, so started looking for lovey sort of images to stamp with. I loved this image of an elderly couple walking together from one of my CICI&SISI plates, and then found a cute heart pattern to go with it.

I really struggled with the colors, and found myself wishing I had not gone for pink and purple afterward, but ah well. They do look pretty together. I used Zoya Lola and Isa. The next bad choice I made, was when I added the hearts on the nail with the elderly couple. They came from CICI&SISI plate 05, and the heart design is from PUEEN43. I should have just put them on there and nothing else. They kind of get lost in the background. I was basically just a mess when I did these haha.

Here is what Zoya Lola looks like on it's own. It's a lovely hot pink with blue shimmer. I did two coats here and one coat of Seche Vite.

Thank you so much for looking. Make sure you take a peek at the nails every one else did. There is bound to be a ton of Valentine's Day inspiration! I'll be back next Friday with a proper Valentine's Day mani.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Aqua or Turquoise

Happy Friday! I have a new post today for our Nail Tarts weekly challenge. The prompt this week is aqua or turquoise. I have been getting really into yoga lately, so I thought it would be cute to do a yoga manicure for this one! I bought some Bundle Monster plates a while back with a bunch of yoga images, so I decided to bust them out and play around.

The polishes I used for this manicure were Essie Where's My Chauffeur?, Julep Lissa, and Salon Perfect Blue Raspberry. I started off with the lightest polish for my base, and then painted a stripe in each color down either side. After that, I used a dotting tool to drag the polishes together and create this effect.

The stamping plates used were BM-XL174, and BM-XL175. I used Konad Special White for the stamping.

Thank you so much for looking! Make sure you check out all the other pretty aqua and turquoise manis!
