Rainbow Honey May Mystery Bag

Hi! Well today I am showing off my second Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag, and I am so excited about the colors in this one. I am so happy I switched over to this subscription. It is so much more of what I am looking for! In this month's bag, I received three mini polishes, perfume oil, aloe, and cuticle balm. Yay! I seriously can't believe I get all that for $10. :)

I have not used the aloe yet, but it smells really good. The cuticle balm is coconut-y and feels really nice on my poor cuticles. I also tried out the scent. It is very light, so no one noticed it, but I did, and that's what counts! Ha! The polishes are all gorgeous. I received Laguna Grande, which is a teal with gold glitters in it. It went on really smooth and looked amazing on.

I also got Juicy Orange Pop, which is a squishy, orange jelly with flakies in it. We had very little sun while I had it on, but the few chances I caught a glimpse of it in the sun, I was driving, so no pics. Maybe I'll wear it again later this summer and show it off in the sunlight for you guys! This one went on nice and smooth too. I painted it on over top of Julep Nina, because it was just too sheer to build up and my nails are stained!

Last, we have Neon Yoshimi. This is the most fun out of them all. I love the glitters in it, and people everywhere stopped me to ask what it was. I wore it over top of Sally Hansen Blue Me Away!, and it painted on nicely like the others with very little fishing needed for the glitters. It contains neon green and pink glitters in multiple sizes and shapes, tiny white squares, medium sized black squares, and iridescent hex glitters. Loved this one so much!

Well there you have it. For two months in a row, I am loving my Rainbow Honey box! So, so, so happy with my decision. :) I'll be back in a couple days with some stamping for you!

52 Week Pick n Mix Challenge - Patchwork + Bright and Happy

Hi again! I have been back on my blogging game lately - yay! I have a mani today for teh Nailtarts, whom I have been neglecting lately in favor of quick stamping manis! As soon as I saw bright and happy, I knew that meant it was time for me to bust out my new China Glaze neons! I bought the set of minis when it was on sale at Sally's about a month ago, and I'm really stoked on a lot of these. I went ahead and combined the prompts for a saucy neon patchwork look! ;)

I started off with two coats of white using Pure Ice SuperStar!, and then painted on blocks of colors. After that I cleaned up my sloppy lines by adding the black "stitching" using my Orly Jet Black striper.

I really like the green and blue in this collection. In the past, the neon greens and blues I have bought have been very thin and streaky. These ones are opaque and went on nice and smooth. The only one that didn't was the purple, and you can see it in the photos. :( Anyway, here are the names of all of the polishes in case you want to know:
  • Pink: Glow With The Flow
  • Orange(-y red?) : Red-y to Rave
  • Yellow: Daisy Know my Name?
  • Green: Treble Maker
  • Blue: DJ Blue my Mind
  • Purple: Violet Vibes

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my mani today! I'll have my next post on Thursday with my May Mystery Bag from Rainbow Honey. :)

Negative Space Stamping with Suki XL Plate 06

Good morning and happy Friday Eve! We are almost there - it's almost the weekend! Today, I have another negative space mani. I wanted it to kind of look like the black and red lacquered art I have seen a lot from Japan.

I painted on my normal base coat (OPI Nail Envy), and then taped off the tip of each nail. After that, I stamped this image on each nail using Konad Special Black polish. When that was dry, I added a coat of Seche Vite to ensure it would not smear, then taped off the opposite bit of my nail so that I could add my bright red tips. The red polish is Nicole by OPI Challenge Red-y. It's very funky!

I think this mani turned out pretty cool. It's honestly better than I expected.

Rainbow Honey April Mystery Bag

Hi everyone! So, a couple months ago, I informed you all that I was parting ways with my Julep box in favor of Rainbow Honey's more unique shades through their monthly mystery bag subscription. After receiving two mystery bags, I am totally happy with my decision. So many awesome colors already, AND I'm super-stoked on the little extras they send. You'll see what I mean, below!

So, the polish arrived in a small envelope in the mailbox, but this little envelope packs a lot of punch! I received three beautiful shades of polish (I opted for minis since my collection is already so huge!), plus a bottle of nail oil, a lip balm, and lip scrub. The scents are just to die for. The nail oil's scent is called Pomelo. It is citrus-y and sweet and feels great on the skin around my nails. The lip balm and scrub smell like cantaloupe. Mmmmmmm. I was so excited to get my first bag from them and can't believe I got all this for only $10. It's a steal!

So, first I swatched Delphine. It is a lovely pale blue with iridecent shimmer. It looked gorgeous in the sunlight. Shimmer always makes me so happy! :)

Next, is Thistle Tresses. This is a beautiful glitter topper with a fun mix of different sizes of hexes, circles, and squares in different shades of blue, teal and purple, and iridescent shimmer.

Last, we have Eidolon. This one is my favorite color: purple! Yay! It is beautiful, too. It was sheer going on, but built up in just two coats. I love the gold and purple shimmer throughout the polish. So pretty!

Thank you so much for looking. I'm working on swatching May's mystery bag now, and boy are there some good ones in it! I'll be back in a couple of days with some more stamping with MoYou Suki XL 06.

My Favorite Image from MoYou Suki XL Plate 06

Hi everyone! So, I have been doing a challenge where I pick a plate and then do a mani each week with the same plate for the entire month. I chose this Suki plate because I totally love it, but have hardly used any of the images on it. Today, I am showing off an image that I knew had great potential, but couldn't quite figure out how to help it shine. Oh my goodness, I figured it out!

I started off with 3 coats of Maybelline WC135 (this polish is ancient and has no name that I can find). I then created a gradient using this pale pink and Nicole by OPI Challenge Red-y. After my gradient was dry, I stamped my image over top using Konad Special Black. I really want to try this again and use the upper half of the image so that I just get the flowers!

Here is what Maybelline WC135 looks like on it's own. The polish is nearly two decades old and getting a bit strange consistency-wise, but it's still super pretty.

Thank you so much for reading my post today! I'll be back with that Rainbow Honey post I promised you in my last post soon!

Pink Floral Manicure with MoYou Suki XL Plate 06

Good evening! I know I've been MIA for a while, so I'm sorry for that. I had a bit of a health issue that laid me up for a few days and then lots of housework to catch up on afterward, so my nails have been neglected. But, I am totally fine now, so I am hoping to get myself caught back up on my blog now too! Today I have for you a mani that I am doing for the Stamping Plate Challenge. I chose MoYou Suki XL Plate 06, and opted to use the floral pattern on the plate.

I used Wet n Wild Stream of Consciousness from their Silver Lake Collection for my base. It is a soft, shimmery pink. It built up in three coats, but was pretty sheer. After that, I made decals by stamping the image in Nicole by OPI Be Ama-Zing!, and painted the background in white. I was pretty sloppy with it, but it was somewhat intentional. :)

Here is what Stream of Consciousness looks like on it's own. All of the colors from this collection are so pretty. I don't usually want all of the colors from any given collection, so that is a good thing!

Thank you so much for coming back to visit my blog! I'll be back in a couple days with my April Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag!

Lotus Nailart over Butter London Airy Fairy

Hey guys! I'm traveling, so this will be my last post for about a week. I did some pretty lotus inspired nailart yesterday that I wanted to share for my stamping group's challenge this week, which is "inspired by your favorite flower". I have a hard time naming a favorite flower, but I really do love the lotus (and even have a tattoo on my back of some lotus blossoms!), so I picked this image as I had never used it before.

I started off with three thin coats of Butter London Airy Fairy, then stamped my image using Mash-35 (I removed the parts below the blossom using tape before I placed each image on my nail) and Konad Special White polish. After that, I thinned out Nicole by OPI Pros and Confidence and Zoya Pippa to color in the flower.

This is what Airy Fairy looks like by itself. It is super pretty. I have had a lot of comments on it even though I have only had it on for about 3 days now. The formula was perfect, as always. :)

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today! I am in the beautiful state of Virginia for a long weekend and will try to have a post by the end of next week. Have a great weekend everyone!
